Here
at Wolfhampcote we have many strange and wonderful creatures, the most strange
of which is Gertrude "The Flying Cow".
I first noticed her fondness of flight as a small calf when she would often go missing only to be found on the roof of St. Peter's Church mooing dolefully at the moon. Since then Gertie has honed her aviation skills and regularly makes trips abroad for holidays and visiting family members in the Simmental region of Switzerland.
Although The Berner Oberland offers impressive skiing facilities Gertrude has never shown any real aptitude for downhill but does enjoy the "apres ski" and has amassed a huge collection of Cow Bells won in numerous drinking competitions.
Please, no e-mail comments and jokes about cows flying over the moon. It would be physically impossible for Gertrude to fly to the moon. There isn't a space suit made that would fit her and even if there was she needs 40 litres of water a day and she couldn't carry enough.
UFO adduction???
New evidence has come to light however that Gertie may have had assistance in the past with her flying. A tourist emailed a photograph to me, he had taken the picture some years ago on the farm and had only just had the film developed. He says that that his photo clearly shows one of my cows being abducted by an alien craft! I'm sceptical , it could be anything, you should look and make your own mind up.
